If you follow the Oakland Raiders and you consider yourself a 'true' fan you're familiar with TJ Carrie. Why? Because as former Raiders linebacker Bobby Hamilton said 'Raiders fans know their own.'
Literally he is one of their own, as a Bay Area native and member of the Silver and Black. However, you don't have to look online at the roster to familiarize yourself with #38 because he is a baller.
You can find Carrie on Sundays flying around the field, descending on wide receivers, making tackles and breaking up plays. But more than that this second-year cornerback is the type of guy who takes time out to snap a selfie with fans, a guy who is active in the community.
Selected by the Raiders in the seventh round of the 2014 draft (219th overall) the former Ohio University cornerback is smart on and off the field finishing all four years of college and earning a degree.
The Antioch native attended football powerhouse De La Salle in Concord and is set to marry his college sweetheart Tyisha next June.
You can learn more about TJ on www.raiders.com or follow him on Instagram @leon18_tj or Twitter @tj_carrie.
Sports in the Bay wishes TJ a healthy and happy season and a wonderful future with Tyisha!
