Warriors General Manager Bob Myers has been named the 2014-15 NBA Basketball Executive of the Year, the league announced today. Myers joins Dick Vertlieb, who was named Executive of the Year during Golden State’s championship season in 1974-75, as the only recipients of the award in Warriors history.
Myers assembled a roster that won a franchise-record 67 games (67-15, .817) in 2014-15 and clinched homecourt advantage throughout the 2015 playoffs by virtue of posting the NBA’s best record. The Warriors became the 10th team in league history to win at least 67 games in a single season, setting franchise marks by winning 39 home games (39-2, .951) and 28 road contests (28-13, .683) en route to capturing their first Pacific Division title since 1975-76.
